  • Make sure to have all of your materials in one place BEFORE you begin to study. You won’t get as much done if you’re constantly getting up to find your things. –Alyson, AU

  • Don’t study on your bed!! Studies have shown that your body creates responses to your daily routines, and it learns that you get in your bed to sleep. Chances are, if you study on your bed, you’ll end up falling asleep rather than studying! –Gavin, USA

  • Take breaks. Humans learn more when information is broken down into short, manageable sections. (This is why your social security number is in three hyphenated parts!) Study for 45 minutes at a time and then take a 15 minute break before moving onto new material. –Dave, AU

  • Wear perfume! Psychologists have proven that scent is tied to memory, so if you wear perfume to study, make sure to wear the same kind on the day of your test so you’ll remember more of what you learned. -Jennifer, UNF

  • Try to maintain one or two places where you can focus to study for each test. Once you find a place where you aren’t distracted and you feel productive, go there every time. –Lindsey, UGA

  • Get a study partner, but make sure it’s someone who won’t distract you (like a crush or very talkative friend). Sometimes it’s better to study with someone in your class who has a different perception of the material and won’t let you leave until you’re done studying. Try to pick somebody smart. –Kelvin, Valdosta State
